CONDITIONING CAMP

SCHEDULE AND GROUPS WILL BE POSTED BY MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2022.  THANKS.

The NWZ Hockey Association Conditioning Camp will provide hockey players in U15 and U18 the opportunity to enhance their conditioning, puck handling and skating skills in preparation for the 2022-2023 hockey season.  Hockey players who have enhanced their conditioning in the NWZ Conditioning Camp will be prepared to perform at a higher level during the fall evaluations and team selection process.  As well, these players will be able to recover quicker after the intense physical exertion associated with the game of hockey and will be less prone to injury.

COST

• There are two separate camps - one camp for U15 players and one camp for U18 players.  The NWZ Conditioning Camps are only offered to U15 and U18 players who will be playing with the NWZ Hockey Association during the 2022-2023 season. 

• $160.00 Flat Fee entitles the participant to 4 scheduled skates.  The "flat fee" means, for example, that if a registrant can only attend 3 out of the 4 scheduled skates, the flat fee of $160.00 will still apply. 

• There will be no "drop-ins" for any of our sessions. 

• There will be no refunds issued except for medical reasons (a doctor's note must be provided). 

SCHEDULE 

• U15 and U18 Dates, Schedules and Player Groups will be posted at the beginning of September.

• All times will be in the evening or on the weekends in the month of September BEFORE TRYOUTS begin. 

• U15:  There will be 4 - U15 groups with 4 different schedules.  Each group will be limited to 25 skaters.  In other words, there will be 25 skaters per time slot. 

• U18:  There will be 4 - U18 groups with 4 different schedules.  Each group will be limited to 25 skaters.  In other words, there will be 25 skaters per time slot. 

• Players will be assigned to groups and their names posted on this site.  Every effort will be made to accommodate players by placing them in the group (schedule) that best meets their needs. 

The WAIVER described below is automatically agreed to when the member registers online using the Hockey Canada Registry System.

WAIVER

The sport of hockey and/or skating have inherent physical risks that may result in serious damage or personal injury.  I knowingly and freely assume all risks.  Medical and personal insurance is the full responsibility of the participants.  In consideration of the North West Zone Hockey Association (NWZHA), its executive, members and instructors, by accepting the ONLINE CONDITIONING CAMP PLAYER REGISTRATION (the Participant) in a Skating/Hockey Program, I, the Parent/Guardian, hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and assignees, forever release and discharge the NWZHA, their executive, members, instructors, administrators, servants, agents, sponsors, employees and/or volunteers from any claims, demands, costs (including solicitor and client costs on a full indemnity basis), all actions, causes of actions, proceedings arising out of or as a consequence of any loss, injury or damage however caused while attending and participating in NWZHA programs.  I declare that the participant named in the Online Conditioning Camp Player Registration is in such physical condition, to the best of my knowledge, that will enable him/her to participate safely in all skating and hockey related programs and that no physician or other qualified individual has advised against participating in this or similar programs and further assume all responsibility with him/her not obtaining such an examination.

Participants registered with the NWZHA or other groups within Federation Hockey and Hockey Edmonton are covered by existing insurance.  All other insurance precedes ours.  All injuries must be reported and forms completed in a timely manner via the same process as a game or practice.

FULL HOCKEY EQUIPMENT MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES, INCLUDING A PROPERLY FITTED HELMET.

PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO SUPPLY THEIR OWN CLEARLY IDENTIFIED WATER BOTTLE. 

All players must respect the coaches, other players, the Arena staff and the facility itself.  No fighting or swearing is allowed.  If any player does not follow these simple rules, they will be asked to leave without a refund.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:

In the new Hockey Canada Registry Online Registration, in order to register for Conditioning Camp, you Click on the Category you are interested in registering for - i.e., U15 or U18. 

So, for example, if you have a U15 player that you want to register for Conditioning Camp, you Click on "U15" and there will be 2 options given: 

U15 - $950.00

U15 - Conditioning Camp - $160.00 

Similarly for U18, you Click on "U18" and there will be 2 options given: 

U18 - $1,000.00

U18 - Conditioning Camp - $160.00
