Game/ Practice Schedules | The schedules that are distributed each tiering round are created by the Hockey Edmonton Ice Committee and forwarded to the North West Zone Ice Allocator for distribution internally to the NWZ U15 and NWZ U18 teams |
Scheduling Concerns | Any questions or concerns regarding the assigned games or practices should be directed to the North West Zone Ice Allocator via email. Please indicate clearly the date time and location of the ice slot and a description of your concerns. All teams will receive the occasional ice slot that is early in the morning. |
Rescheduling Games | If you need to reschedule a game due to travel to a tournament or other event, you will need to get approval from the Hockey Edmonton City Category Director, as well as the NWZ Category Director (U15 or U18) within your organization. All ice from rescheduled games must be used for exhibition games and your team is responsible for finding a suitable replacement slot for the un-played game. Referees have been assigned to the game ice slot. Your team will be charged for the original game slot as per the NWZ per ice charge of $190 per hour. You are responsible for the cost of the replacement ice and the payment of the referees. |
Scheduled Practices | The practices that are scheduled for your team must be used by your team. You cannot replace a scheduled practice with another ice slot that you find that might have a more desirable location or time. If for some reason you cannot use your practice slot, you can trade the ice slot to another team within your zone. You cannot sell scheduled practice slots or game slots - period. |
Booking Procedures | You can book an ice slot for your team by going to the Hockey Edmonton Ice Booking page at www.hockeyedmonton.ca/Rentals . You must be on the team hard card (aka roster) in order to purchase ice for the team. You will receive a confirmation email that your ice slot has been booked. The NWZ Ice Allocator will also receive a copy of your booking. The NWZ is billed directly by Hockey Edmonton. You will receive an invoice for your ice slot(s) from the NWZ Zone Ice Allocator every couple of months. Once a slot has been booked you are responsible to pay for the slot. If your team cannot use slots that you have purchased for your team you are still responsible for payment. If you trade or sell a slot to another NWZ team, that is between you and the other team and all payment arrangements will be between you and the other team. When you get your ice bill from the NWZ, the ice slots that you have directly purchased will be on the invoice whether or not you traded or sold them and you are responsible for the entirety of the invoice that you receive. If you wish to book an ice slot from the City of Edmonton Facilities Booking website you are responsible for paying for the ice slot directly to the City of Edmonton. |
City of Edmonton Booking Procedures | If you would like to book ice from the City of Edmonton website you must book the ice utilizing the form outlined below in order to receive the subsidized rate. Once the ice is booked it CANNOT be returned for any reason. This ice is billed out at $190.00 per hour. |

Ice used for Development Purposes | All ice used for development purposes (power skating, skill camps, goalie development, etc.) must be approved by the North West Zone Hockey Committee. |
